Special Rules:
-Core Shot: If the Ogre Sniper can mount an attack of 30 or more attack strength by itself on an opposing cybertank they may attempt to target the Cybertank itself and roll on the 1:1 table, on an X the opposing Cybertank is destroyed and turned into a hulk as normal
-Energy Shield: If "The End Times" is targeted with an attack treat the attack as one column to the left for resolving damage to the weapons systems. For instance a 2:1 attack would become 1:1.

This is a great site, I love your new Ogres! Some questions though:
ReplyDeleteUnder Mark VII, Mark IX and Mark X what is MRD and RL?
How does "The End Times" energy shield function?
Under Golem-B shouldn't the 9 RL's be IM's?
Also, are the cannons on the SHVY Ogre the same 3/3 weapons of the SHVY?
ReplyDeleteHi Jeremy, thanks! Those are some great questions, I guess I've been using these short forms for so long I forgot to define them! MRD stands for Missile Reload Drone, and RL stands for ReLoad (as in a missile reload, MR was taken). The rules for these are given in the Ogre Miniatures update on the Mark VII (free on warehouse 23). You're right, those RL's should be IM's! Yeah the SHVY still has the same cannons, SJG released rules for this variant at some point but I'm not sure where. I've tossed a few different rule sets for the energy shield including it negating the first attack each turn, or all the weapons on the ogre having an extra defence, but I'm not sure I'm totally happy with any of the rule sets yet. Hope that answered your questions!

ReplyDeleteHmm, I'll definitely look into it to see if it fits any of the Ogre's flavor, the main reason that I didn't initially was due to Steve Jackson Game's edit of the Mark VII's stats, admitting that external missiles were, on these large Ogres at least, much more efficient than MR's as they could be fired off before having the MR's shot off by incoming fire rendering internal missiles useless, this made it hard to justify Combine technicians continuing to manufacture Ogres with MR's after determinning that the Mark VII was better with external missiles, perhaps it would work on other factions large Ogre's?
