Dragon MkI and Sino-Nihon War History

Chinese Dragon Mk I Manned “Cybertank” Model and the complete History of the Sino-Nihon War

Here is my attempt to make a Dragon Mk I cybertank model using the stats from my previous post on the subject, let me know what you think!
-I used 2 old panzer toy tanks from a board game for the top of the chassis and turrets and the treads were from Sherman tanks from the same game. The texture is from a model plane and the cables in between are from an old action figure. The main body is made out of thin cardboard similar to the stuff I used for my MkVII model.

History of the Sino-Nihon War-This history is taken from my complete Ogre timeline and much is non-canonical but as the official timeline never wrapped up the conflict I wrote up an ending.  As a side note on the theme of this writing this is in no way supposed to be political and is based on a theoretical future in an alternate universe and in no way represents my actual views on this region or any current, past or future events in the world.

The Sino-Nihon War began in 2071, tensions had been rising between the two powers for years and the invasion of several Nihon controlled Islands by the Chinese Hegemony followed by a failed Chinese invasion of Southern Japan ignited the conflict. Despite initial failings and much less advanced technology China continued to gain advantage through numbers swallowing up island after island until 2073 when the Combine sent significant aid to the Nihon Empire including equipment, research, resource deals and volunteers. In 2074 Nihon fielded cybertanks for the first time with their new “Steel Oni” units in the battle of Hong Kong, Nihon takes the island and lands on the mainland in the south, pushing inland spearheaded by their new warmachines. Despite the Nihon troops make slow progress and get bogged down in rubble, marsh and forest. The Chinese people also prove hostile, Nihon troops lack the proper numbers to supress the populace and they eventually resort to nuking population centers implicated in the attacks. This difficulty continued until 2082 when the Nihon introduced their new “Steel Samurai” units which began to help break the stalemate. Using these new units the Nihon invade China by sea in the north in 2084, surrounding China from the north and south and pushing further inland. Under these desperate conditions China finally fields their new manned Dragon Mk I “cybertanks” against Nihon forces in defense of Beijing in 2085. Though individually less effective than the Steel Samurai units the Dragons are plentiful and successfully defend the city through a battle that lasts weeks. This would prove to be the turning point in the war as the introduction of theses massive manned vehicles finally blunted the already slowed Nihon advance. Although the Nihon Empire displayed a captured Dragon Mk I in Tokyo showing the world the Chinese secret the Nihon’s holdings in China continued to erode throughout 2086. The Chinese Hegemony continued to gain ground and in 2087 they fielded their Dragon Mk II cybertanks and launch a massive offensive spearheaded by the new units eventually pushing Nihon forces into Korea and finally off the continent. Although there is much celebrating throughout the brutalized Chinese countryside, the Hegemony wastes no time launching yet another major landing in Japan but are defeated in the first Battle of Tokyo. By 2088 however the Nihon Empire has begun to reorganize and have fielded their new Steel Warrior cybertanks in defense of mainland Nihon and the Hegemony finds it impossible to establish a permanent beachhead. In order to overcome this problem China goes to extreme measures and launches a massive amphibious assault all along the Nihon coast spearheaded by an unprecedented barrage of Strategic Cruise Missiles. The Nihon laser defense system fails to come online and the islands are ravaged by the missiles reducing much of the countryside to ash, Chinese sabotage is very probable. The second Battle of Tokyo occurs and although the remnant Nihon forces fight long and hard with the fall of the city the Nihon Empire crumbles ending the Sino-Nihon war.
