Gibraltar: The Key to Europe
This scenario represents the initial Combine
landings at Gibraltar in 2078 and the initial Paneuropean reinforcements
responding to the threat. As a side note on the theme of this scenario this is in no way supposed
to be political and is based on a theoretical future in an alternate
universe and in no way represents my actual views on this region or any
current, past or future events in the world. The Combine player must move quickly and capture
docks and fortifications to quickly secure their hold on Gibraltar and clear
the way for the main Combine invasion force into Spain. Hope you guys enjoy!
Scenario
Rules:
Setup:
Paneuropeans set up all Spanish, Italian and German forces in any city area or
on any dock, fort or road.
Reinforcements:
All forces may move and fire on the turn they enter the map
Order: Combine
forces have the first turn
Special
Rules: Combine reinforcements may be brought on at any beach
or any captured dock. The mountain fort is heavily fortified and any unit
defending from inside may shift the combat results table 1 to the left. The
mountain fort may also be targeted and it has 30 structure points, when it is
destroyed all units inside suffer a strength 3 hit. However if the mountain
fort is destroyed it does not count for either side towards victory points. The
mountain fort may not be entered by units on the opposing side unless all units
inside are destroyed. Areas are controlled by the player with the most units
inside the area, each 1 infantry counts as 1/3 of a unit and each Ogre counts
as 3 units.
Turn
1:
British 6th Cybertank Assault Battalion enters on either beach
Turn
3:
Combine 106th United States, New York Amphibious Marine Regiment enters on
either beach or any controlled dock
Turn
5:
Paneuropean 67th French Airborne Cavalry Battalion enters on any road
Turn
7:
Combine 89th Mexican Armor Battalion enters on any beach or
controlled dock
Game
end:
The game ends after 20 turns (could reduce to 10/15 with a small table or increase
to 25 or 30 on a large table)
Victory
conditions: Each Ogre immobilized is 1 point, capturing
the Mountain Fort is 4 points, each large dock is 2 points, and each small dock
is 1 point. The small beach is worth 1 point, large beach is worth 2 points. Total
of 13 points. 11-13 points is a crushing victory, 8-10 is a victory, 7 is a
partial victory, 6 is a partial defeat, 3-5 is a defeat 0-2 is a crushing
defeat.
